About this Opportunity: This is a great opportunity to join our team in Newcastle as an Investment Management Assistant on an 18-month contract and be part of our exciting plans to continue growing our business. This role open to everyone with a desire to progress a career in financial services – a school leaver, graduate entry, someone looking for a complete career change or anyone with other suitable work experience. Responsibilities include: •    You will assist the team to provide a first-class standard of service to our clients, helping them to achieve their investment goals and make a difference to their lives.  •    The role will initially involve all aspects of administration to support the client journey and includes liaising with clients, preparing presentations, proposals, and client reports, including all related processing tasks.  •    Collate and verify the accuracy of information and work provided. •    Complete all work according to procedures. •    Assist team members as required and work effectively with colleagues. •    The role broadens as you develop knowledge of investment management, Brewin Dolphin’s wider business offering and the financial services sector.  Where it ultimately leads is up to you.   •    Client interaction at this stage will be limited, however any interaction will maintain Brewin Dolphin’s conduct and professionalism standards Skills: •    You should have the ability to demonstrate the skills required to be successful – strong accuracy, numeracy, attention to detail, clear and concise verbal and written communication, a good telephone manner and IT skills, specifically MS Applications, •    You should be willing to work as part of a team to complete tasks to a high standard. •    We are a busy and growing team; you will need to be able to meet deadlines and work within restricted timescales.  Applicants need to be able to prioritise their workload and identify when support is needed to achieve goals. •    You will have strong communication skills, being able to deal with colleagues & clients in person and over the phone •    Applicants should respond well to change, adapt where necessary and work calmly under pressure. •    You will need to demonstrate initiative to achieve the required results. Candidates require the ability to negotiate with colleagues professionally and able to influence change for the better.  •    You will need to be organised and able to plan your working day affectively Qualifications: •    Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent    Company values Genuine – Shows empathy and understanding for the needs of clients and colleagues.
