The Role
The LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and
electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and
MCCB panel boards. The role is central to ensuring products are completed
accurately, safely and to the required technical standards.
* Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical
drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirements
* Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout
information
* Check component quantities and quality before starting each build
* Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools
* Carry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and
functional checks
* Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective
fault-finding
* Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification,
diagrams, drawings and production sheets
* Work safely and support compliance with health and safety requirements
* Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with
colleagues and other departments
About You
* Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment
* Good understanding of electrical systems, components and panel construction
* Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
* Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring
diagrams
* Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment
* Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition

Salary & Working Hours
* 39 hours per week, full-time
* Monday to Thursday: 07:25 to 16:30 (with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00)
* Friday: 07:30 to 13:10 (no lunch break)
* Location: Braintree, Essex (workshop based role)
* Salary: £27,000 p/a
