Our client has an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Draughtsperson to join them on a contract basis for 6 months with possible extension. You will be working closely with a wide range of project teams to develop definitions to meet the manufacturers and customer's needs.\n\nRole: Mechanical Design Draughtsperson\n Location: Stevenage, 2 days onsite as a minimum\n Hours: 37 per week\n Hourly Rate: £43-£45 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35\n Clearance: SC required before starting, UK Eyes Only due to project\n\nWhat you'll be doing:\n\nMust have a strong background in the ability to create 2D and 3D definitions.\n\nIn this role, you will develop the 2D and 3D definitions working with the engineer, quality assessing the 3D models you receive for a variety of defence products.\n\nAppointments will be made at an appropriate level based on skills and experience. Please bring examples of 2D draughting work to show in the interview\n\nRequirements:\n\nDegree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant industry experience.\nExcellent knowledge of BS8888 Technical product documentation and specification, ISO 1101 Geometrical product specifications, ISO 5459 Datum and datum systems and similar standards and GD & T\nAbility to translate design intent from 3D models into high quality robust 2D/3D definitions and must have a good amount of 3D modelling experience.
Knowledge in 3D annotations would be an advantage. (preferably CREO)\nExperience of creating tooling definitions\nExperience of checking drawings\nProven ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical design.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and make technical decisions.\nAbility to manage priorities.
